The MuvEnum Address Bar saves you time by making it super easy to quickly open files, folders, programs, websites, bookmarks, browsing history, web searches, and more from your Windows taskbar!
MuvEnum Address Bar Features:
-
Auto-completion is supported. This means that when you are typing something in the address bar, the auto-completion list will popup and show you items you've loaded before in Windows Explorer, your enabled browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox 3.x, Google Chrome), and the MuvEnum Address Bar that start with what you have typed and allow you to select them using your mouse or by toggling through the results using the tab or up and down arrow keys. The Tab key is supported in version v3.0.0.0 and higher.
-
Websites can be opened from the address bar by typing in the url of the website and hitting enter. If you type something that you'd like to search the internet for, when the auto-completion list pops up, use the arrow keys to highlight the option titled Search for to open your default search engine to the search results for the typed keywords.
-
Programs and files can be opened from the address bar by typing in the path of the program or file. As you type, the auto-completion feature will help you quickly get to the path or file you were looking for.
-
Browser Favorites/Bookmarks can be opened from the address bar by typing in the name of the favorite and hitting enter. For example, if you had a favorite for your web-based email and called it email, you could type email into the address bar and hit enter and it would then open up that site in your default browser. Your favorites will be shown in the auto-completion list.
-
Desktop Items are supported and allow you to quickly access files and folders on your desktop by their name. These will be shown in the auto-completion list.
-
Special Folders are supported and allow you to quickly access special system folders. We've added support for both the XP and Vista naming conventions so you can type either name in the address bar to access the special folders. These will be shown in the auto-completion list. *"Desktop", "Documents", "Pictures", "Music", and "Favorites" will expand the auto-completion list to show the files in that folder when the \ character is typed.
-
Quick Search Aliases are supported. This feature allows you to specify an alias for quickly opening a search website based on the search keywords you specify. Example: you have a search alias of g for google.com. To search google.com for something, in the address bar, you would type "g keywords" (without the quotes). This would then open your default browser to google.com with the results for your search term. MuvEnum Address Bar reads from the settings that Internet Explorer uses to support the quick search aliases. To setup aliases, you would need to use TweakUI.
-
Environment Variables are supported and allow you to quickly access system paths. A list of the default environment variables can be found on Wikipedia.
