New version! - The Windows registry is a database repository for information about a computer's configuration. The registry keep growing when you use Windows. As it does so, it attracts obsolete and unnecessary information, and gradually becomes cluttered and fragmented. With the growing of the registry, it can degrade the performance of the whole system and cause many weird software problems.

New Year = New work for you. As I look into my crystal ball for 2009 I see Windows Server 2008 and 64 bit servers in your future. Why? If for no other reason than the next version of SharePoint will be 64bit only and I know you are looking forward to test driving it whenever it shows up. Todd and I have spent quite a bit of time discussing the items below so I thought I would share some of the thoughts we had.

The program is a serious competitor of commercial software. On the whole, it can be said, it is a little more cumbersome to handle than what we are used to, but this is compensated for by getting an easily extendable software that produces excellent results - free of charge.

It provides Windows NT4.0/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 with full access to Linux Ext2 volumes (read access and write access). This may be useful if you have installed both Windows and Linux as a dual boot environment on your computer. The "Ext2 Installable File System for Windows" software is freeware.

After reading a very well written, and informative, article on PC Magazine, I have decided that the time is right to make the switch to 64 bits at a time. The above story gives a very good picture of what is to be expected, as long as one sticks to the Windows family of operating systems. Concrete examples of what happens, and how the applications behave, are given to help the reader imagine the use of the latest change in computing.

Ever since DDR3 hit the market, there really hasn't been a whole lot to get excited about. With Vista Codec Package installed, you won't need to install any other codec or filter. Many user suggested default settings are implemented. It does not contain a media player. It does not associates filetypes.
